On-Demand Webinar: How can we quantify the long-term health and economic impacts of treatments to society?

Projecting Long-term Societal Value: The Health Economics Medical lnnovation Simulation (THEMIS), presented by PHE Founder and Scientific Advisor Dana Goldman, PhD, and PHE Director of Policy and Economics, Alison Ward, PhD is now available to view on-demand.

This free webinar will provide an in-depth review and discussion of how several challenging but important HEOR questions can be addressed using microsimulation:

  • How will new treatments or better use of existing treatments improve population health?
  • How much value will treatments generate over the long-term?
  • What will be the effect of access policies on future pharmaceutical innovation?

To answer these questions, PHE and its academic partners have developed THEMIS, a simulation built using nationally representative data. THEMIS enables researchers to use these historical data to evaluate how interventions will impact future population health and economic outcomes over the next 10, 20, or even 30 years. The model has been validated and published extensively, and this webinar will review how it can be applied as an important component of evidence generation to demonstrate long-term value.
