Congratulations to Associate Health Economist Abhishek Sharma, part of Precision’s Evidence Strategy, Generation, and Communications team, for his acceptance into the World Heart Federation’s Emerging Leaders (EL) program. The program is part of a WHF initiative to reduce premature mortality from noncommunicable, chronic diseases by 25% by 2025.

Created in 2014 to recognize leaders in cardiovascular research, the EL program seeks to build capacity, professional development, mentorship, and networking around the globe. Each year, through a competitive process, 25 ELs are selected. They take part in online training, covering essential topics in the field of implementation science, health systems, and health policy research. The ELs also meet face-to-face for a 5-day think tank seminar with senior CVD investigators, collaborating on multinational innovative and interdisciplinary projects aimed at reducing CVD premature mortality.

Abhishek will be participating in this year’s think tank focusing on access to essential medicines in Cape Town, South Africa, June 18-23.
